Terms & Conditions
Introduction
Welcome to our website www.aidansweeney.co.uk .
We are a long established family business and always aim to offer a high level of customer care. We treat our customers fairly and want you all to have a good experience when you deal with us.
Most importantly, any details you give us are kept safe and private, and all online payments are totally secure. Your credit or debit card details are encrypted and sent across a secure connection to Opayo (formerly called SagePay) using systems that are Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliant.
This sums up our approach, but we need to state various legal points as well, for our protection and for your protection - so we have listed these in detail below.
Please read these terms and conditions carefully, if you do not agree with them, do not use this website. Nothing in these terms affects your consumer statutory rights. By using the aidansweeney.co.uk website you signify your agreement to be bound by these terms. These terms are liable to change at any time and any change will take effect from the time of publication on our website. Very rarely, access to the website may be suspended or restricted to allow updates, upgrades or repairs. We will try to ensure that this is for the shortest time possible.

How to order
ONLINE
Use the online shop on this website to order and pay securely online. The ordering process should be clear and easy, but please feel free to phone us on 01874 623613 if you have any queries.
BY PHONE
Telephone orders are welcome. You can ask for further information about products and we can advise you on sizes and other details as necessary. Please telephone 01874 623613 during shop hours. You can then complete your order on the phone if you like (you will need your card details to hand). If you phone outside shop hours your call is diverted to my mobile. We have offered mail order by telephone for many years.
BY POST
You can order by post by writing to us, though it's usually easier to phone (01874 623613) to talk to us first so you can ask any questions and arrange the easiest way for you to pay. Please do not send cash. Our postal address is Aidan Sweeney, 7-8 The Market Arcade, Brecon, Powys, United Kingdom LD3 9DA.
Our Contract (Order)
The information we ask you to give when placing your order is for billing and delivery purposes or for contacting you if we have a query about your order. When placing an order online to buy goods from us, you will be sent an email confirming receipt of the order and the order details. A contract between you and Aidan Sweeney will only take place once the order has been accepted, processed and items despatched. At this point your credit/debit card will be charged. We may decline any order; if we do, we will tell you why. The price, availability and specification of the goods are subject to change without notice. Title in the goods shall not pass to you until we have received in full all moneys owed by you under this and any other contract. All risk of loss of or damage to the goods shall pass to you upon delivery.
Payment
CREDIT or DEBIT CARD
This is the fastest way to pay for quick dispatch (as long as an item is in stock). We accept all major credit cards (excluding Diners Club Cards). Cards are not debited until your goods leave us. We accept online payments by credit or debit card through a secure environment.
CREDIT AND DEBIT CARD SECURITY
When purchasing goods online you will be passed to our secure online payment processing partner, Opayo (formerly called SagePay). Your details will be processed using Opayo secure systems that are Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliant. We do not store any cardholder data. Depending on which browser you are using, you may see different security features such as a padlock symbol or the address bar turning green. However, regardless of whether you're using Internet Explorer, Safari, Chrome, Firefox or any other browser, you can be confident that our site is safe and secure. Transactions are shown in Pounds Sterling. Do not email your card details. We take no responsibility for security if you email your payment details. Card fraud is illegal and will always lead to prosecution. In the event of a refund being made, this will be made to the card on which the original payment was made.
CHEQUE
Please allow 10 working days for your payment to clear. Cheques should be made payable to Aidan Sweeney. Please write your cheque card number and your address on the reverse of your cheque. We reserve the right to wait for payment to clear before dispatching your order.
GIFT VOUCHERS
Gift vouchers can be bought online but can only be redeemed at the shop in Brecon or by post.
OFFERS & PROMOTIONS - If we have a special offer or promotion, you cannot use this in conjunction with any other offer. If in doubt, contact us to ask.
Pricing
All products we offer for sale and postage costs are priced in Pounds Sterling and include UK VAT at the current rate where applicable. The listed prices do not include delivery charges, which are listed elsewhere on this website (see below). Any customs or import duties due when your package arrives at the destination country (including post-Brexit tariffs in EU countries) are your responsibility. Occasionally, despite our best efforts, some products may be mispriced on the website. We reserve the right to make changes and will let you know these when you order.
Availability
We try to hold stocks of all products shown in the online shop. However, demand means that occasionally an item is out of stock. If this is the case we will tell you when you order and ask you how you would like to proceed.
Delivery
Delivery costs are calculated according to the total value of your order. UK costs are listed below and include VAT as per HMRC requirements. All dispatch costs are calculated and shown at checkout before you confirm your order. We usually dispatch orders from the Post Office at least once a week. If you need your order urgently, contact us on 01874 623613 and we will do our best to help. Any closures/non-working days (e.g. between Christmas and New Year) will be listed under "Useful Information". All delivery dates are estimates and are subject to availability. Once the order leaves our premises we cannot guarantee the delivery time of the Royal Mail or other carrier.
UK DELIVERY
Total order value up to £20 Total order value between £20.01 and £40 Total value order between £40.01 and £100 Total order value over £100 |
Delivery cost £2.95 Delivery cost £3.95 Delivery cost £6.50 FREE DELIVERY |
BFPO DELIVERY
Providing the address is in the correct BFPO format, and you meet the tax-exemption requirements, orders to BFPO addresses are charged at our normal UK P&P rate, and are eligible to have the UK VAT charge removed. See our BFPO - How to order page for details. BFPO addresses in the European Union require tax-exemption form 15(10) to be completed and sent to us before your order can be dispatched VAT-free. See our sample 15(10) tax exemption form.
OVERSEAS DELIVERY
This is calcuated accoridng to the value of goods ordered, and varies depending on destination. Delivery costs will be clearly shown once you enter your delivery address and before you pay.
If your parcel is unusually heavy and therefore expensive to post (costing significantly more than our stated delivery costs) we reserve the right to charge cost price for postage, but we will always contact you to discuss this first and check you are happy before proceeding.
For overseas deliveries, local tariffs and custom duties are out of our control. These are paid by the recipient. From 1st January 2021 European Union countries will charge tariff duties on goods we send to you. We do not know the rate of these tariffs, but your local customs office can probably help.
Customs
Goods ordered for delivery outside the UK may be subject to import duties, taxes, or customs charges. From 1st January 2021 European Union countries will charge tariff duties on goods we send to you. These will be levied once the parcel reaches its destination country. Any such charges for import/customs must be paid by you; we have no control over these and do not know what they may be as customs policies vary from country to country. Contact your local customs officer for full details and regulations.
Returns policy
We hope you will be pleased with your purchase, but if you think there is a problem with an item you have ordered, please contact us first to discuss the problem. We comply with the Distance Selling Regulations. You may cancel the contract within 14 working days from the day after delivery. Contact us to tell us you are returning an item, before returning it to us in its original unused condition and packaging. We will then (on receipt of the item in its original salable condition) process the refund of the full purchase price and original delivery charge. Goods will be refunded within 30 days of cancellation. On receipt of a returned item, which was originally paid for by credit card, a reimbursement will be made directly to the credit card account of the person who originally paid for the goods. You must prepay return postage and we advise you to consider using a recorded delivery service with adequate insurance, as we are unable to compensate for parcels that are damaged or mislaid in transit. Where an exchange item is required, the card will be recharged on despatch of the replacement goods. If you change your mind AFTER the normal returns period, we will - for the following 14 days and as a gesture of goodwill - give you a credit note to the value of the returned goods (P&P excluded). Please follow the above instructions for returning the item(s). Personal tailoring, made to measure, and special order items (e.g. tablecloths cut to size at your request) may not be returned unless faulty or damaged on delivery.
All of us want you to be happy with your purchase, so do please talk to us on 01874 623613 if you feel there is a problem.
Goods damaged in transit
In the event of goods being damaged on receipt they should be returned to us immediately. Items must not be used when damaged, as you will be deemed to have accepted them in their damaged condition. Before replacement goods or refunds can be issued, goods must be returned for our inspection and if necessary the item may have to be returned to the manufacturer for testing. Postage and packaging fees will be reimbursed for justified damage claims.

We try hard to show accurate photographs and give accurate descriptions of our products on this website. However, some details, such as colour, may not be a true representation due to technical issues with the website or with the settings of the screen you are looking at.
