GDPR - General Data Protection Regulation
Ever since we started our website in 2010 we have had strict policies in place about how we contact you and how we use any information you give us. These policies comply with GDPR. This page explains how.
EMAILS
The only way you get on our email mailing list is by actively chosing to be on it, by:
- ticking the box "add me to the mailing list" on our email contact form at https://www.aidansweeney.co.uk/contact-us
- filling in your name and email address on our "Join our Maiing List" form at https://www.aidansweeney.co.uk/mailing-list
- ticking to join our mailing list in the "My Account" section of our website
You can opt out of our email mailing list at any time by:
- emailing us at info@aidansweeney.co.uk or phoning us on 01874 623613
- clicking "unsubscribe" on any email Newsletter you receive from us, or on any order confirmation email you receive on placing an order with us
- changing your preference in the "My Account" section of our website
At the moment the only email Newsletter we send out to the mailing list is a Christmas greetings email. We've done that since 2013.
In the future, we may offer other emails, but all the above policies will still apply. You are only on our mailing list if you actively chose to be, and you can leave our mailing list at any time. There is no way you can accidentally end up on our mailing list.
MY ACCOUNT
You can order from us online as a guest, without creating an account.
If you chose to create an account, you enter your name and contact details in "My Account".
All the information we hold about you (name, contact details, orders) is shown in "My Account", so you can easily check this by logging into your account.
ORDER INFORMATION
When placing an order with us (whether online or by phone), you give us your name and address so we can fulfil your order, and your email address and phone number so we can confirm your order and contact you if there is a query about it. This information is not used for any other purpose.
WHO SEES YOUR INFORMATION
We never pass on your details to any other business or individual, except to fulfil an order you place with us e.g. if you order a made to measure suit, your name (but not contact details) might be used in communication with our trusted fabric suppliers.
In my business, there are only two people who can use computers to access the information about you and your orders which is held on the backoffice part of my website. These people are me (Aidan Sweeney) and my assistant who helps me deal with internet orders. This information is password protected and the passwords are not written down.
If you telephone to make an order, your contact details are written down and stored securely in a locked cabinet. Your payment card information is entered onto Opayo's (formerly called Sagepay) secure payment system by me, Aidan Sweeney. Our website designers are Iconography Ltd. If we have a technical issue with the website (which is very rare), their trusted technician may have to access the website to resolve the technical problem. Iconography's website is: https://www.iconography.co.uk, where you can see they take their data protection responsibility very seriously and are GDPR compliant.
Our email providers are Icewarp. They are fully GDPR compliant: https://blog.icewarp.com/were-gdpr-ready/
